Odyssey Tool Cart

Materials: Baltic Birch Ply (3/4”, 1/4”), Square tube steel, 16G sheet steel, cabnet hinges.
The Odyssey tool cabinet was originally designed for a New York City community center called Odyssey, which specializes in teaching young adults making skills such as woodworking, metal fabrication, ceramics, and botany. The tool cabinet is a multipurpose storage kart, designed to be utilized in different shop and studio scenarios, making it easier for students to have access to what they need, in order to develop their hand on skills. It also serves as a mode for younger students to learn life skills such as responsibility for one's own and others belongings, as the karts are assigned to each student for the duration of a class, and are responsible for its care and upkeep.
Outside of its original function, the Odyssey tool cabinet can be easily utilized in a professional or home setting, as mobile desk or workspace storage. Made from simple, yet durable materials such as steel, plywood, and canvas, the kart brings an interesting break from the average tool storage design style with bright colors, moving parts, and geometric cutouts.
